screenrant.com OPPO's Find X5 & Find X5 Pro Flagships Are Now Official
OPPO officially launches its Find X5 series flagship smartphones, just ahead of the upcoming MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona. OPPO's Find X5 Pro will take on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, with the phone bringing some serious camera chops as revealed in the weeks leading up to the launch. The Find X5 Pro is packed with the most specs expected on a 2022 flagship and also adds in a few extras in the fast charging department. OPPO has confirmed the Find X5 series will not be available in the U.S.
Ahead of the launch, OPPO had detailed its MariSilicon X custom image processing chip. The dedicated ISP is designed specifically to improve nighttime videography, an aspect most smartphone cameras struggle with. The MariSilicon X NPU enables real-time RAW processing, enhanced color accuracy, more natural tones, and an improvement in night video resolution. Needless to say, this technology will go head-to-head with Samsung's "Nightography" mode that chooses the ideal frame rate to capture as much light and detail as possible in low light conditions.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. The display is a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution (3,216 × 1,440 pixels), a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It sports a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery with 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The same battery and charging specifications were also seen on the OnePlus 10 Pro.
OPPO Find X5 Series Features Advanced Cameras
The camera department is where the OPPO Find X5 Pro really shines. It sports a 50MP main camera with dual OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera that supports 4cm macro photography, and a 13MP telephoto lens with 5x hybrid optical zoom. There's a 32MP selfie camera at the front. As per OPPO, the cameras can capture detailed 4K footage at night, while an "Ultra Dark Video" mode can reportedly capture footage in "extreme low light." The OPPO-OnePlus merger also brings the Hasselblad partnership to the Find X5 series. OPPO's flagships will benefit from more natural color calibration, while the camera app will get the orange Hasselblad shutter button and XPan mode.
While the Find X5 Pro is the star of the show, the OPPO Find X5 also carries forward some of the same features. These include the MariSilicon X NPU, an almost identical camera setup, and 80W wired charging. The smartphone downgrades from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip to the Snapdragon 888 and gets a lower 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The display is a smaller 6.5-inch panel with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution and a non-adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The battery is a 4,800mAh unit, while the wireless charging is slower at 30W.
The OPPO Find X5 and Find X5 Pro are available for pre-order starting February 24 and will go on sale starting March 14. The Find X5 is priced at €999 (about $1,115), while the Find X5 Pro will set users back by €1,299 (around $1,450). Even though the Find X5 series will not be available in the U.S., it's worth noting that the OPPO phones support global 5G connectivity, so they can work in the country if a user chooses to import a unit.
