'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Stalk Market Guide - Best Turnip Price Range & More
Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings back the Stalk Market from previous games, and, thanks to New Horizons' multiplayer options, the feature is better, and more lucrative, than ever. In this guide, we'll reveal how to make the most of Daisy Mae's weekly visit. Want to know what ranges to look out for and how to get the best return for your investment? You've come to the right place.
How to Play the New Horizons Stalk Market
In order to unlock the Stalk Market feature, you must have the Nook's Cranny store built. Then, every Sunday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Daisy Mae will show up in your village to sell you bundles of 10 Turnips each. A full expanded inventory can hold up to 4,000 Turnips. You can buy more than that, but it should be noted that Turnips cannot be placed in storage. This means you'll have to find a physical location on your island to put additional Turnip stashes down. You might even need to dedicate a room in your house to store the extra stock.
These Turnips can then be sold at Nook's Cranny. Just like the real stock market, the goal with the New Horizons Stalk Market is to buy Turnips from Daisy at a low price and then sell them at a profit to the Nooks. Casual play will likely only offer yields of a few thousand Bells per week if you play it smart, but those who want to get deep into the system, and the community, have the potential to make millions.
The premise is simple, but it's complicated by the fact that both Daisy Mae's weekly sell price and Nook's daily Turnip sell prices fluctuate wildly. While Daisy Mae's prices are set once per week on Sundays, Nook's change twice per day: once in the morning and once at night.
So, Stalk Market players often have a habit of seeing what the price is at 11:59 a.m. and then waiting for the clock to change at 12 p.m. To check the latest Turnip Prices, talk to the Nooks inside the Cranny.
A few additional details to note.
Given this basic structure, it's possible you may have to sell your Turnips at a loss on rare occasion. However, knowing the ranges discussed below can help you know the right time to buy.

Now that you understand the basics of how the Stalk Market works, you're probably wondering what a good deal and bad deal look like. When's the right time to buy in? These ranges should help you out.
How to Get the Best Turnip Prices
While it's highly likely your Turnip returns will be fairly mediocre most weeks, New Horizons' online features open things up substantially to offer huge gains on the regular. While visiting a friend's Island through online play, it's possible to take advantage of Daisy Mae and Nook's Turnip sell prices on that particular Island.
In other words, while Nook may be selling you Turnips for 125 Bells each, he may be selling them to your friend for 400. To take advantage of the windfall, all you have to do is visit your friend's Island and sell the Turnips at their Nook's Cranny. This may require multiple trips if you have several inventories worth of Turnips, but the Bells make the effort worth it. Of course, not everyone is fortunate enough to have lots of friends playing New Horizons. If that's the case, there are several online communities where players offer up their Dodo Codes when Turnip prices are high in exchange for a small cut of the profits. If you're familiar with reddit or Discord, there are a few places you can look.
At these places, you'll find threads and entire chat channels dedicated specifically to the Turnip trade. Follow them closely, and you could become a millionaire very quickly. If you use one of these communities, just be sure to be a good Villager and leave a few bags of Bells on the ground as a tip. That's all there is to know about the Stalk Market in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
